A new paper Growth behavior and properties of atomic layer deposited tin oxide on silicon from novel tin(II)acetylacetonate precursor and ozone by the group of Prof. Takoudis at UIC was just published in Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology A. This is the first paper acknowledging our recently funded NSF proposal on tin-based electroactive materials design.
A new paper “Polymer piezoelectric energy harvesters for low wind speed” accepted to APL
A new paper Polymer piezoelectric energy harvesters for low wind speed by the group of Seungbum Hong (Argonne) and the mesoscale collaboration involving Olle Heinonen, Shiyuan Gu and Serge Nakhmanson was just accepted to APL. This is the first paper resulting from our mesoscale collaborative project. Some of our PVDF cantilever vibration movies should be included in the paper supplemental materials.
A paper on the properties of β-Ba2TiO4 published in Phys Rev B.
A paper by William Parker (ANL) and Serge Nakhmanson Density functional study of the structural, electronic, and vibrational properties of β-Ba2TiO4 was just published in Phys Rev B.
New paper accepted for publication in Phys Rev B
A new paper by William Parker (ANL) and Serge Nakhmanson, and titled Density functional study of the structural, electronic, and vibrational properties of β-Ba2TiO4 was just accepted for publication in Phys Rev B. Our previous paper predicting incommensurate distortions in a fictitious epitaxial Ruddlesden-Popper phase of Ba2TiO4 was published in Phys Rev B earlier this year.
NSF proposal on Tin-based electroactive materials design funded in September
Together with an experimental collaborator, Prof. Christos Takoudis (UIC), we have received an NSF CDMR grant “Computational design and atomic layer deposition synthesis of stereochemically active multifunctional oxide nanostructures.” This grant started in September 2013 and will last for three years.
